Formula E Returns to Free-to-Air TV in UK

Formula E has secured a new deal with ITV that will bring free-to-air television coverage back to UK fans for the upcoming 2024-25 season. All 16 races will be broadcast live on the ITVX streaming platform, with nine selected races also airing on ITV4. This transition marks a significant shift from the previous season's subscription-only coverage on TNT Sports, which resulted in lower viewership.

The revamped format will include a bespoke highlights show for each race weekend, aimed at enhancing viewer engagement. Nicki Shields has been promoted to lead presenter, taking over from Jermaine Jenas, and she will be joined by several former drivers on hosting duties. The new approach reflects an eagerness to improve accessibility and visibility for Formula E in the UK, particularly given the country’s crucial role within the series and its teams. The season will kick off with the Sao Paulo E-Prix on December 7, setting the stage for an exciting year ahead for fans.
