    Summary

Meyer Shank Racing announced Friday that Marcus Armstrong signed a multi-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through 2027 and beyond, with the 25-year-old set to move into the No. 60 Honda for the 2027 NTT IndyCar Series season. Armstrong is racing in MSR’s No. 66 Honda this year, and the No. 60 seat has been driven by Felix Rosenqvist for the past three seasons. Rosenqvist has said he will leave the team after this season.

Armstrong’s 2026 season has been described as a breakout year. He is 11th in the standings, remains winless in IndyCar, and came close to victories at the Indianapolis 500 and Road America. He finished fifth in the Indianapolis 500 in May and has added five more top-10 finishes this season. In his first year with Meyer Shank Racing in 2025, he earned one podium and 11 top-10 results.

Armstrong said he was proud to stay with the organization and excited to return to the Indianapolis 500, which he called unfinished business. He also said he wants to build on the momentum he and MSR have established. Co-owner Mike Shank said Armstrong has already shown he can be a top contender, and cited his work ethic and feedback as reasons for the extension. Meyer Shank Racing said its plans for the No. 66 car are still being finalized and that another driver will be announced later.
