    Summary

Jake Dennis turned pole position into a dominant victory in the red-flagged Sanya E-Prix, leading Andretti to its first-ever Formula E one-two finish after teammate Felipe Drugovich was promoted to second. The 37-lap race on Hainan Island featured frequent lead changes, multiple neutralizations and a crash at Turn 9 that brought out the red flag. Antonio Felix da Costa briefly led late in the race before a five-second penalty dropped him to fifth behind Dennis, Drugovich, Pepe Martí and Nyck de Vries.

Dennis had also put Andretti on the front row in qualifying, where he beat Drugovich in an all-Andretti final to give the team its first-ever front row lockout in Formula E. Dennis advanced to the final by defeating Pascal Wehrlein in the quarterfinals and Dan Ticktum in the semifinals, while Drugovich beat Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans. Dennis’s pole lap was 1:05.502, his first pole of Season 12.

The win was Dennis’s second Formula E victory of 2026 and lifted him from eighth to sixth in the championship standings with 94 points. Mitch Evans remained top of the standings on 128 points despite retiring from the race, with Oliver Rowland second on 109 and Edoardo Mortara third on 103. Rowland and Mortara both retired, and Pascal Wehrlein sat fourth on 101 points, while Dennis moved ahead of da Costa and Nico Mueller in the standings.
