FIA Posts Best Operating Result in a Decade
Summary
The FIA reported its strongest operating result in a decade for fiscal 2025, marking a sharp financial turnaround from a €24 million operating loss in 2021. Operating profit rose 43% year over year to €6.7 million, revenue climbed 75% from FY2021 to €191.7 million, operating cash flow reached €53.7 million, and year-end cash more than doubled to €43.6 million. The organization ended the year with no financial debt and an equity ratio of 49%.
The FIA said the recovery began in 2021 and credited tighter cost control, clearer oversight and stronger commercial performance across its championships. It pointed to revised World Rally Championship promoter terms, growth in the World Endurance Championship and a Formula E contract extension that generated a €20 million exceptional gain. A revamped Global Partner Programme also helped, attracting brands including DHL, Rolex, Hankook, AlphaTauri, Siemens and Tomorrow.io.
President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said the improved finances would support continued investment in championships, member clubs, staff, road safety, sustainability and mobility programs. The FIA said it had reinvested more than €20 million since 2022 into initiatives including an Officials Department and safe mobility projects, and said its debt-free position gives it more flexibility for future spending.
