    Summary

Goodyear has signed a multi-year extension to remain the exclusive tyre supplier for the LMGT3 class in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) through the 2029 season. The agreement continues Goodyear’s single‑spec supply to LMGT3, a role it has held since the class began in 2024, and will see a new generation of Racing Eagle tyres introduced in 2027 for use in the WEC and the European Le Mans Series (ELMS).

The 2027 Racing Eagle range will consist of a single slick, branded Eagle Medium, and a new wet‑weather compound. Both tyres are being manufactured with 66% sustainable materials and will carry Eagle‑branded sidewalls. Goodyear says the wet tyre is designed to give drivers instant confidence across a wide operating window.

The 66% sustainable‑material mix includes recycled steel, rice‑husk silica, recycled zinc oxide, ISCC‑certified polymers and carbon black, bio‑based processing aids, and sustainable natural rubber. Goodyear also said it is developing a future Racing Eagle with 80% sustainable‑material content and plans to showcase that demonstrator in the near future. Goodyear Racing VP Xavier Fraipont described the deal as reinforcing the company’s long‑term commitment to innovation and sustainability in endurance racing.

The supplier was chosen via a joint FIA and ACO tender that evaluated performance across varied track and weather conditions, safety, sustainability, cost, Goodyear’s LMGT3 experience, and the level of technical and operational support offered to teams. ACO president Pierre Fillon said the extension supports sporting consistency and technological responsibility. The FIA and ACO will separately award the exclusive Hypercar tyre contract for 2030–32 by tender; that contest is widely expected to be won by Michelin, although Goodyear submitted a strong bid and evaluated prospective Hypercar compounds earlier in the year. At Le Mans, Goodyear mounted its largest‑ever endurance effort, deploying more than 100 staff to support LMP2 and LMGT3 entries.
