Racing Bulls VCARB02 Heavily Inspired By RB20

Racing Bulls is gearing up for the 2025 F1 season by developing the VCARB02, which will heavily incorporate design elements from last season's Red Bull RB20. After a strong start to the 2024 season, securing sixth place in the Constructors' standings, Racing Bulls plans to integrate key components like the rear suspension, gearbox, and aerodynamic features from the RB20 into its new car. A filming event is set for February 17 at Imola, where drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Isack Hadjar will conduct testing of the VCARB02.

The establishment of a new aerodynamics department aims to enhance the technical partnership with Red Bull, although this close collaboration has faced criticism for perceived similarities to an "A/B team." Despite these concerns, team management insists that Racing Bulls remains independent and distinct, emphasizing their unique design features even while sharing some components. The VCARB02 will include innovations such as an inverted L-shaped cooling inlet and an updated front wing for improved airflow. Additionally, challenges in engine development loom, particularly with Honda transitioning to Aston Martin in 2026, yet cautious optimism from team principal Christian Horner reflects the future prospects of their power unit.
