Tincknell tops Sao Paulo FP1 in Aston Martin Valkyrie

Harry Tincknell led Free Practice 1 for the FIA World Endurance Championship’s 6 Hours of Sao Paulo at Interlagos, topping Hypercar in the Heart of Racing Team’s No. 009 Aston Martin Valkyrie. Sources reported his best lap as either 1:25.457 or 1:25.184, set on fresh Medium Michelin tyres. Robert Kubica briefly went quickest for AF Corse, but a deleted lap for an infringement — reported as either track limits or pit-lane speeding — dropped him back to fourth.

Ferrari filled the next positions in Hypercar, with Antonio Fuoco second and Antonio Giovinazzi third in the factory 499Ps, while Alpine’s A424 was fifth and Sheldon van der Linde placed sixth in the BMW. Toyota’s best car was 12th with Mike Conway leading the way, and Peugeot also ran different tyre strategies and finished further back. In LMGT3, Maxime Martin led in the Iron Lynx No. 61 Mercedes-AMG with a 1:34.883 lap, ahead of Charlie Eastwood’s Corvette and Augusto Farfus’ locally liveried WRT BMW. The 90-minute session was largely clean, although reports differed on whether it stayed green throughout or included a brief full-course yellow for debris.
