Alonso Criticizes FOM for Misleading Portrayal

Fernando Alonso has voiced his displeasure with Formula One Management (FOM) for their portrayal of him as a "grumpy guy," particularly after they broadcast a frustrated team radio message during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix practice session. In this message, Alonso candidly described his Aston Martin as the "worst car ever," expressing his frustrations with the car's performance and traffic issues during preparation. However, despite these challenges, he ultimately qualified eighth for the race, which he attributes to significant improvements made to the car after adjustments were implemented.

Alonso argues that FOM focuses solely on his negative comments without providing adequate context, leading to a misleading narrative about his demeanor. He insists that communications with his engineer are private and often misconstrued, suggesting that FOM has a pattern of selectively highlighting his frustrations. Nevertheless, he maintains a positive outlook on both his performance and the ongoing challenges within the sport, asserting that FOM's efforts to paint him in a negative light will not alter his public image.
