Doug Boles Named New INDYCAR President

Doug Boles has been appointed as the new president of INDYCAR and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, effective February 11. Succeeding Jay Frye, Boles brings extensive experience, having served as IMS president since 2013. During his tenure, he oversaw achievements such as the sellout of the 100th Indianapolis 500 and significant infrastructure investments exceeding $150 million. Penske Entertainment President Mark Miles highlighted Boles' exceptional leadership and familiarity with the sport, viewing this transition as an opportunity for growth and increased visibility within motorsports.

Boles expressed his commitment to the future of INDYCAR and optimism for the upcoming season, while Frye reflected on a transformative decade that included enhanced safety measures and a thriving competitive environment. The leadership change also involves a restructuring of senior staff positions, with Mark Sibla appointed as Senior Vice President of IndyCar Competition & Operations and Alex Damron as Chief Marketing Officer among other key appointments. The 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season is set to launch on March 2, starting with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, paving the way for an exciting new chapter in the series' history.
