Formula E Unveils Strategic 'Pit Boost' Feature

Formula E is reintroducing pit stops, termed "Pit Boost," set to debut during the Jeddah E-Prix in February 2025. This new feature mandates drivers to make at least one pit stop where they will receive a 10% energy increase, facilitated through a 600kW boost with a stationary duration of around 34 seconds. The intention behind this change is to enhance strategic planning and dynamics within races, though teams express concerns regarding potential delays.

The PIT BOOST concept has been in development for over two years and underscores Formula E's commitment to innovation in electric mobility technology. With strict usage regulations, this initiative aims to elevate competition and introduce variability in race outcomes, particularly during designated double-header weekends.
