Maya Weug Secures First Victory at Yas Marina

Maya Weug achieved her first victory in the F1 Academy at the season finale held at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Starting from sixth on the grid, Weug swiftly maneuvered her way to second place by lap two, eventually overtaking pole-sitter Abbi Pulling amid a chaotic race filled with collisions and penalties that affected numerous drivers. Despite a late Safety Car that bunched the field, Weug maintained her lead and finished in first place, while Pulling secured a well-deserved second after a consistent season, having podiumed in every race.

Nerea Martí finished third, rounding out the podium, and Clara Martín's performance also saw her achieving a personal best in fourth. This victory was particularly significant for Weug, as it not only marked her triumph in her debut season but also helped PREMA Racing clinch the Teams' Championship for the second consecutive year. The race's excitement and intensity set the stage for the next season, slated to kick off in Shanghai in March 2025.
