Verstappen Penalized Twice in Mexican GP Near Misses

Max Verstappen received two 10-second penalties at the 2024 Mexican Grand Prix due to incidents with Lando Norris, bringing the total penalty time to 20 seconds. McLaren CEO Zak Brown expressed dissatisfaction with the penalties, believing they were not enough and that Verstappen's aggressive driving style was "getting a bit ridiculous."

Norris reflected on the incidents, stating he was prepared for Verstappen's behavior due to their past wheel-to-wheel battles. Verstappen was penalized twice for forcing Norris off the track during the race. Andrea Stella, McLaren team principal, praised the stewards for their handling of the situation, describing it as "consistent." Norris finished the race in second place, behind Carlos Sainz, while Verstappen's penalties ultimately cost him a podium finish.
