Brent Crews takes first Truck Series pole at Watkins Glen

Brent Crews captured the Truck Series pole in Qualifying (Q) Friday at Watkins Glen, posting a 1:10.222 (70.222 seconds) at 125.602 mph in the No. 1 Tricon Garage Toyota for his first career Truck Series pole. He credited extensive sim work, a productive practice and cold track conditions for the single-lap speed.

The Race began under green, and Crews jumped to the lead on the opening lap, setting the tone as the field settled into the opening circuit. Ty Majeski qualified second with a 1:10.536, Daniel Hemric third with a 1:10.664; Conor Mosack and Connor Zilisch rounded out the top five. Shane van Gisbergen qualified eighth, Ben Rhodes ninth and Carson Hocevar tenth. Ross Chastain qualified 33rd, while Toni Breidinger and Dystany Spurlock failed to qualify.

Qualifying positions from Q set the starting grid for the Race and will affect how drivers can earn championship points, so Crews' pole and the other qualifying results will influence the championship standings once Race points are awarded.
