Honeycutt earns first Truck Series win at Watkins Glen after chaotic finish

The weekend included FP1 and Q3 sessions before the Race. Kaden Honeycutt earned his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory at Watkins Glen after a chaotic, late-race sequence of incidents and penalties decided the outcome. He held off Connor Zilisch and Shane van Gisbergen on the final overtime restart, taking the lead after passing Zilisch when contact unsettled him. Honeycutt recovered from a final-stage penalty and collected 55 points for the win; he entered the weekend as the Truck Series points leader and earlier picked up his first ARCA Menards Series victory at Watkins Glen, which he said he used to work on issues ahead of Trucks practice.

The Race featured multiple cautions, crashes and an overtime restart. With about 11 laps remaining Carson Hocevar hit the inside wall and was evaluated at the infield care center. Subsequent restarts produced additional incidents involving Kris Wright, Layne Riggs and others. Ross Chastain was penalized for a restart violation earlier in the event and later was sent into the wall after contact from Ty Majeski, which forced another caution and set up overtime. Gio Ruggiero drew a restart violation. Pole-sitter Brent Crews dealt with tire lockups, off-course excursions and a runaway tire on pit road before finishing seventh. Reports varied on the official lap total, with one account calling it a 74-lap overtime event and another citing 72 laps on the 2.45-mile course.

Daniel Hemric won Stage 1 and finished fourth overall, earning 10 stage points and 43 points total. Connor Zilisch won Stage 2 and finished second, collecting points toward the Truck Series standings. Chandler Smith finished fifth and collected eight stage points. Shane van Gisbergen overcame intermittent fuel pressure, a loose rear-view mirror, a failed helmet fan and an engine power issue, made an unexpected late stop for fresh tires and charged back to finish third.
