Ferrari Unveils Revamped 499P Hypercar Livery
Summary
Ferrari AF Corse has introduced a revised livery for its 499P Hypercar as it prepares for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship. The iconic red base has been darkened and accented with yellow stripes to enhance visibility at night, along with new design elements for race number panels. Underneath this striking exterior, substantial modifications have been made to increase reliability and performance, with about 50% of the updates focused on enhancing durability in response to issues faced during the 2024 season.
Ferdinando Cannizzo, Ferrari's head of endurance race cars, noted that while the car’s external appearance remains largely the same, improvements have been implemented in crucial components such as the suspension and electronic systems. Intensive testing has totaled around 15,000 kilometers, addressing previous reliability concerns that led to non-finishes. The team’s unchanged driver lineup will aim for consistency and operational excellence to secure points and better compete against experienced rivals. As the 2025 season approaches, with the first race in Qatar on February 28, Ferrari is also planning future updates within the current regulatory frameworks.
