His best time was 2:16.588, and he beat Todd Gilliland by 0.293 seconds. Ty Gibbs, Connor Zilisch and Carson Hocevar completed the top five, while Shane van Gisbergen was eighth and Austin Hill ninth. The session was mostly clean, though Austin Cindric and Jimmie Johnson spun, Brad Keselowski hit a tire barrier, and Kevin Magnussen brushed the wall in his Cup debut before finishing 29th. Christopher Bell left halfway through with a fractured left wrist and finished 36th, while Brent Crews served as Bell’s relief driver and posted a lap just 0.050 seconds slower than Bell’s best. Qualifying for the Anduril 250 was scheduled for June 20 at 2:30 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

The session included contact with the wall for Brandon Jones, who suffered heavy left-side damage, and Corey Day, who was able to drive his car back to the garage after making contact.

In the opening Truck Series practice, Layne Riggs set the pace with a lap of 2:17.22, followed by Kaden Honeycutt at 2:17.38. Chandler Smith, Jimmie Johnson and Parker Kligerman were also near the top of the board, with Kligerman listed fifth. The session saw several incidents at Turn 16, where Adam Andretti, Ben Rhodes and Carson Mosack all hit the wall, and Brenden Queen made a hard separate impact in the same section. Session 2 results were not yet available. The opening run remained the only completed benchmark in the report.
