MotoAmerica Talent Cup becomes Fuji rotor proving ground

    Summary

Fuji Corporation is using MotoAmerica’s Talent Cup as a proving ground for a new brake rotor design, making Team Roberts’ program the platform for its Miracle Fit lightweight brake rotor technology. The Japan-based company, also known as Fujico, is testing the product in competition to validate it under race conditions before pushing branding more prominently.

The effort reflects a shift in Fuji’s business from brake calipers toward brake rotors. Fuji said it still assembles Brembo brake calipers, and it now produces more than 95% of the racing brake rotors used by Brembo. The new Miracle Fit Disc is intended to reduce raw material use, weight and manufacturing costs while preserving durability and performance. It is being tested on the Krämer APX-350 MA in Team Roberts’ program, with initial track testing taking place shortly before the season-opening race at Circuit of The Americas.

Fuji entered MotoAmerica’s Talent Cup through Hatsumi Tsukamoto’s long friendship with Kenny Roberts and Tomoko Roberts, a relationship that helped launch development of the brake disc concept. MotoAmerica’s Talent Cup Championship is primarily meant to develop young riders rather than serve as a component test bed, but the partnership has given Fuji a practical setting to evaluate future braking systems under competitive conditions.
