    Summary

Silverstone is set to host a busy junior single-seater weekend, with Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy all previewing pivotal rounds at the British circuit. Formula 2 heads into Round 7 with the title fight tightly packed at the midpoint of the European season, Formula 3 arrives for Round 5 with both championship battles still open, and F1 Academy will race at Silverstone for the first time in its 2026 season at the halfway mark.

In Formula 3, Ugo Ugochukwu has led the Drivers’ Championship since Melbourne, but Freddie Slater, Brando Badoer, Noah Stromsted and Hiyu Yamakoshi remain in contention after strong recent results. The first eight races of the season produced eight different winners, and Silverstone has a recent history of first-time Formula 3 winners. Arvid Lindblad won both races there in 2024, breaking that trend, and the venue has also produced chaotic Feature Races in mixed conditions over the past three seasons, though rain is not expected this time.

Formula 2’s preview points to Sebastián Montoya and Alexander Dunne as drivers to watch at Silverstone because of their past results at the circuit and recent momentum, with qualifying expected to be especially important. Gabriele Minì leads the standings on 108 points, two ahead of Nikola Tsolov, while Rafael Câmara sits third on 82 and Dunne fourth on 80. Silverstone’s high-speed layout and hotter weather are expected to raise tire wear, making Pirelli tire management and long-stint strategy key factors in the Feature Race. In F1 Academy, Alisha Palmowski arrives as the points leader after winning in Montreal, holding a 25-point lead over Emma Felbermayr, while Campos Racing leads PREMA by 54 points in the teams’ standings. The weekend will include practice, qualifying, a reverse-grid race and Sunday’s Feature Race, with warm, dry conditions expected on the 5.891-kilometer, 18-corner track. Wild Card entrant Chiara Bättig is also among the drivers to watch because of her previous Silverstone experience and strong junior-level form.
