    Summary

The RAC Tourist Trophy will return to the 6 Hours of Silverstone when the FIA World Endurance Championship goes back to the British circuit in April 2027. The race is scheduled for April 23-25 and will be the third round of the championship, with the winning crew again set to receive the Royal Automobile Club’s historic prize.

Silverstone is returning to the WEC calendar for the first time since 2019, after hosting the championship every year from 2012 through 2019. The Tourist Trophy was first awarded in 1905 and is described as the world’s oldest automobile race prize. It had been linked to the Silverstone WEC event since 2013, was presented at seven of the last eight visits, and later moved to the Silverstone Festival’s historic race.

FIA WEC CEO Frederic Lequien said the trophy’s return fits the championship’s return to the United Kingdom. Royal Automobile Club chairman Duncan Wiltshire also said the restored link between Silverstone and the Tourist Trophy is a fitting symbol for the event’s comeback. Previous winners of the trophy include Stirling Moss, Graham Hill, Mike Hawthorn, Derek Bell and Tom Kristensen.
