FIA Investigates Several Drivers for VSC Infractions

The FIA has summoned six drivers and a team for various infractions during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The drivers, including Max Verstappen, Nico Hulkenberg, Pierre Gasly, and Esteban Ocon, are under scrutiny for possibly overtaking under virtual safety car conditions. The stewards are also investigating a collision between Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez, as well as a potential breach of pit lane regulations by the McLaren team.

The investigation into the virtual safety car infringement has revealed that four drivers, including Verstappen, were warned for overtaking under VSC conditions after the checkered flag. The drivers passed other cars while the VSC was still being displayed, despite being reminded by the stewards that overtaking is prohibited under VSC conditions, even after the checkered flag. The stewards warned that further breaches may incur significant penalties.
