Leclerc Leads Day Two of Pirelli Tire Testing

Charles Leclerc led the second day of Pirelli's tyre testing at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, setting an impressive lap time of 1:14.971. His teammate, Lewis Hamilton, finished with a best time of 1:16.759, while McLaren's Oscar Piastri recorded a time of 1:15.815. This session was crucial for Pirelli as they assessed new prototype tyres designed for the upcoming technical regulations, providing teams with valuable insights into tyre performance under the challenging conditions of the Barcelona circuit.

Pirelli's Motorsport Director, Mario Isola, highlighted the session's importance in comparing various tyre constructions and compounds, paving the way for refinements in next season's tyres. Each driver followed individual testing programs, making direct time comparisons more complex. Hamilton and Leclerc completed a combined 148 laps and 152 laps, respectively, contributing to the comprehensive data collection process.
