The team expressed disappointment over the decision, highlighting their urgent need to find a funded driver for the race. Wallace, who learned of the decision with shock, had recently received reassurance from NASCAR's President, making the news particularly surprising. NASCAR pointed to Wallace's inactivity on larger tracks since 2015 as the reason for the disapproval.

In light of Wallace's ineligibility, MBM Motorsports is racing against the clock to identify a suitable substitute for the prestigious season opener at Daytona International Speedway. Team owner Carl Long also shared insights about the team's struggles to secure sponsorship for the Xfinity Series, reflecting on the financial constraints and logistical issues they face.
