Norris Tops Practice at Sao Paulo GP

Lando Norris topped the first (and only) practice session for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos, clocking a fastest lap of 1:10.610 on soft tyres. He edged out fellow Brits George Russell and Oliver Bearman, the latter making his debut for Haas in place of the unwell Kevin Magnussen. Norris’ final lap propelled him to the top, overtaking Russell, who had led most of the session, while Bearman showcased promising pace in his new role.

Track conditions were bumpy and contributed to a number of incidents, including a near-miss between Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz. Meanwhile, Ferrari drivers Leclerc and Sainz had a subdued start to the session, failing to challenge the leading times set by their competitors. Overall, the practice provided an exciting preview ahead of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, with Norris leading a British 1-2-3.
