Theo Pourchaire Joins Peugeot's Endurance Team

Theo Pourchaire has been appointed as a test and development driver for Peugeot's FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar team after impressing during a post-season Rookie Test in Bahrain. At just 21 years old, the reigning FIA Formula 2 champion is eager to transition into endurance racing, moving away from his single-seater roots. His responsibilities will include participating in private testing sessions and aiding in the technical development of the Peugeot 9X8. There’s also the possibility that he may step in for regular drivers as needed.

Pourchaire's selection comes after Malthe Jakobsen, the previous test driver, ascended to the race lineup for 2025. Peugeot's technical director has acknowledged Pourchaire’s potential and single-seater experience, which are expected to be advantageous for the team’s endurance program. Alongside Pourchaire, Clement Novalak is also being considered for a reserve driver role, with both drivers looking to secure a position that allows them to participate in European and American racing series. Peugeot is actively evaluating new talent and plans to add a seventh driver for the 2025 season, although final decisions regarding the driver line-ups for their two-car WEC squad remain pending.
