De Vries wins Monaco E-Prix Race 1 as Ticktum is penalized

Nyck de Vries, driving for Mahindra, won Race 1 of the Monaco E-Prix, delivering Mahindra its first victory of Season 12. The win was de Vries's first Formula E victory since Seoul in 2022, and it contributed to an early reshaping of the championship standings.

Dan Ticktum took pole in Q3 with a 1:26.551 lap, de Vries qualified second in 1:26.682 after a final-lap duel that left Ticktum with the prime track position. Qualifying placed the front-runners for the tactical phases of Race 1.

During the Race de Vries used timed Attack Mode activations and a Pit Boost strategy to move into the lead. Mitch Evans recovered from fourth on the grid to finish second on the road and moved into the Drivers' Championship lead. Ticktum crossed the line third but stewards later applied a post-race drive-through penalty for a late collision with Antonio Félix da Costa, demoting him to 12th in the final classification. The penalty promoted Pepe Martí to his first Formula E podium and altered the early championship order ahead of the second Monaco race.
