    Sep 30th, 2024

    Summary

Alpine has announced plans to cease its works engine programme at the end of 2025, with the Viry-Chatillon base transitioning to a new "Hypertech Alpine" centre focused on ultra-high-performance vehicles and innovations in cutting-edge technologies. The Enstone facility will become the heart of Alpine's F1 efforts, incorporating a yet-to-be-announced engine supply arrangement for the 2026 regulation changes.

Renault, the parent company of Alpine F1, has confirmed that it will stop producing its own Formula 1 power units after the 2025 season. The team's power unit facility at Viry-Chatillon will be transformed into the Hypertech Alpine facility, a new engineering center that will focus on developing the future Alpine Supercar, batteries, and other motorsport projects. This marks a significant change for Renault, which has produced F1 engines for over 40 years, and is part of the company's strategy to focus on innovation and electric motor technology.
