F1 Academy Expands Grid to 18 Entries

The F1 Academy is set to expand its grid for the 2025 season from 15 to 18 full-time entries, welcoming Hitech as the sixth team. This all-female racing series, under the leadership of Susie Wolff, aims to nurture and promote female talent in motorsport. Hitech will field two full-time drivers along with a rotating wildcard competitor at every event, allowing for increased participation and introduction of new talents. The inclusion of Hitech signifies a promising growth trajectory for the F1 Academy, which envisions a future expansion of entries, potentially reaching 20 cars.

Hitech GP, already active in the FIA Formula 2 and Formula 3 championships as well as the British Formula 4 series, will utilize a modified version of the Tatuus T421 car for its F1 Academy efforts. With six rounds scheduled for the upcoming season, Hitech is anticipated to announce its drivers soon, with Nina Gademan being a strong candidate for one of the positions, backed by Alpine’s support. Hitech owner Oliver Oakes has expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, underscoring its significance in advancing opportunities for young women in the motorsport industry.
