Câmara Converts Pole Into Spa Feature Race Win

Rafael Câmara converted pole position into his second Formula 2 Feature Race victory of the season at Spa-Francorchamps for Invicta Racing, overcoming a poor start in a race shaped by multiple Safety Cars, a red flag and changing tire strategies. He lost the lead at the start, passed Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak on Lap 5, then reclaimed the net-race lead after his pit stop before pulling away to win by 5.4 seconds.

The race was stopped after Laurens van Hoepen crashed heavily at Turn 7, and Câmara moved back ahead after the restart and a Safety Car period. Inthraphuvasak finished second for ART Grand Prix and took his first Formula 2 podium, while Nikola Tsolov was classified third after post-race penalties changed the order. Alexander Dunne dropped from second to fourth after a five-second track-limits penalty, and Noel León fell to seventh for the same reason.

The result moved Tsolov 27 points clear of Gabriele Minì in the championship, 161 points to 134, and lifted Câmara to third in the standings. Invicta Racing completed a double win at Spa and extended its run to three straight Formula 2 victories at the circuit. Câmara had finished sixth in Saturday’s Sprint and said that result gave him good points for the championship and useful information about overtaking in a DRS train ahead of the Feature Race.
