Dunne tops Silverstone F2 practice for Rodin Motorsport

Alexander Dunne set the pace in Formula 2 free practice at Silverstone, putting Rodin Motorsport at the top of the times with a lap reported as 1:42.065, although one report listed the benchmark at 1:42.060. Rafael Câmara was second, 0.071 seconds back, with Dino Beganovic third and Sebastián Montoya fourth as the field headed toward qualifying later in the day at 14:55 local time.

The session stayed tight throughout, with Câmara, Kush Maini, Gabriele Minì and John Bennett each briefly moving ahead before Dunne reclaimed first place late in the run. Roman Bilinski, Minì, Joshua Duerksen, Bennett, Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak and Maini all finished in the top 10, while Nikola Tsolov was 11th. Minì had a mixed session after hitting the wall at Chapel following a loss of the rear at Becketts, but still recovered to finish sixth.

Dunne said his car felt balanced and enjoyable, which gave him confidence heading into qualifying. He said track limits at Turns 9 and 15 could be decisive on Silverstone’s long lap, and added that a clean lap would matter because the Hard tires used in practice offered limited grip. He expected the softer tires for qualifying to let drivers push harder, and said he was already in the conversation for pole after finishing second in qualifying at Silverstone last year.
