Kevin Magnussen to Stay with Haas as Test and Development Driver

Kevin Magnussen will maintain his involvement with the Haas team in 2025, transitioning to a role as a test and development driver after stepping down from his full-time race seat at the end of 2024. He has signed a deal to participate in Haas's Testing Previous Car program, particularly utilizing an older car, in conjunction with the team's partnership with Toyota. While his primary focus will be on BMW's LMDh program in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, Magnussen may also attend some Formula 1 races if his schedule permits.

Team principal Ayao Komatsu emphasized the importance of Magnussen's experience, particularly for new drivers Esteban Ocon and rookie Oliver Bearman. Although he is shifting towards endurance racing, discussions are ongoing concerning Magnussen's availability to serve as a reserve driver for select races throughout the F1 season. Magnussen's commitment to an active role within motorsport reflects his desire to remain connected to the racing community.
