Verstappen Tops Azerbaijan Practice 1

Max Verstappen set the pace in the opening practice session at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, beating Lewis Hamilton by three tenths of a second. Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez took third place, while Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz completed the top four.

The session was marked by three red flags, including a crash for Charles Leclerc, who clipped the dirt and slid into the wall, and a spin for Franco Colapinto. Red Bull brought an upgraded floor to Baku in an attempt to address their recent performance woes, with Verstappen clocking a time of 1m45.546 seconds on soft tyres.
